Together, we own and operate SALMARSON KENNELS.
We have been breeding German Shepherd dogs since 1982. Our philosophy has been to produce beautiful, healthy puppies with good temperament. It is of the utmost importance to us to place our puppies in loving homes where they become members of the family. Show homes are great, as a kennel becomes well known by the number of champions it produces, but, the companionship a dog receives and gives is even more important to us. It is for this reason that we are very picky about the homes our puppies go to. They must want a dog for the right reasons and be prepared for a lifelong commitment to the dog.
We also offer support for our clients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year. With many years of experience in dogs, we have a lot of information that we take for granted. Raising a number of dogs over the years gives us knowledge that we will freely give to our clients, hopefully even saving them money in veterinary costs. Although this is not always the case, it has proven to be true in a number of instances.
Our dogs have provided us with so much over the years. We have laughed a lot, and have shed tears as well - they are a rich and rewarding part of our lives.
On our web pages you will see many pictures of our dogs, and even a couple that we don't talk much about here. Our Abby is our oldest and has never produced any puppies, but is the matriarch of the family. She has one Best of Breed win but absolutely detested the show ring, so we didn't show her any more. There was no point in showing a dog that hated it with that kind of passion. Gemma is a daughter to our Scarlett and will soon be bred. She is also a full sister to our Wiley, and to Dexx, who are featured on their own pages.
